Survey the existing condition
Have frames, sills and the surrounding facade assessed. Discuss what can remain and where repairs may be needed. Photographs are useful for an initial conversation, but cannot replace careful measurement and inspection of the actual openings.
Define the work
Ask who handles removal, disposal, facade repairs and internal finishing. Include window boards, shutters and connections to existing fittings. A written allocation of responsibilities makes clear what belongs to the quotation and where other trades may be required.
Prepare for installation
Agree the sequence of work, access to the home and protection of the interior. Discuss how unexpected conditions will be handled. At handover, check operation, finishes and documentation, and record any outstanding work in a shared written list.
